Construction
Over the past decade, we have made significant strides in enhancing the facilities across our district to provide better learning environments for our students - all thanks to the support of our community. We are pleased to share the progress made on various construction projects that have transformed our schools during this time.
These projects are wide-ranging, including several theatre facilities, which feature dedicated costume design space, scene shops for set building, computer labs for digital editing, and fully equipped audio recording rooms. These spaces have been carefully designed over the years to foster creativity and innovation in our arts programs.
We have also constructed new classroom facilities, each incorporating acoustic ceilings, updated stucco exteriors, and smart boards in every classroom. These upgrades, developed incrementally, have significantly enhanced the teaching and learning environment.
The development of science laboratories at our high schools has been a cornerstone of our commitment to STEM education. These labs, completed in phases, are equipped with essential utilities, including data, gas, air, and electric hookups at every station, alongside smart boards and distilled water systems, providing our students with state-of-the-art scientific resources.
To improve the overall campus experience, we have installed outdoor seating areas, shade canopies and lunch shelters over the years, offering students comfortable outdoor spaces. Additionally, the entire campuses have undergone a comprehensive upgrade of utilities, including the relocation and installation of power conduit, gas service piping, fire water service, telecommunications, and sewer lines, ensuring that our infrastructure remains robust and up to date.
Safety and security have been top priorities throughout this decade-long effort, with the installation of modern life safety and security systems across all campuses. We have also undertaken the critical task of hazardous materials remediation.
Additionally, we have resurfaced parking lots and repaired several aging roofs across our campuses, with more roofing repairs scheduled for the near future. These projects are essential to maintaining the integrity and longevity of our school facilities.
These improvements reflect a decade of dedication to creating modern, safe, and inspiring spaces for our students and staff. We appreciate the community’s support throughout this journey and remain committed to continuing our efforts to enhance the educational experience for all students in the Centinela Valley Union High School District.
