Hawthorne High School Athletic Fields Project
In accordance with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) regulations, an Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) was prepared that describes the environmental impacts of the proposed Hawthorne High School Athletic Facilities Improvements Project (Project). The proposed Project would replace existing outdoor athletic facilities on the campus and the Hawthorne Aquatics Facility with new and improved facilities. The IS/MND was circulated for public review and comment for 30 days from March 21st to April 19th, 2022, as required by CEQA. No comments from State or local agencies or members of the public were received on the Draft IS/MND for the Project. As a result, the Centinela Valley Union High School District (District) has not had to respond to any comments. A Final IS/MND has now been prepared, which will be presented to the District’s School Board (Board) for their consideration and approval. The Board of the District will consider adoption of the Final IS/MND and the CEQA required Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program (MMRP) and approval of the proposed Project at its meeting on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.
